(KAIR)--Two women were arrested Friday evening after allegedly facilitating the sale of a controlled substance from an Atchison residence.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, the arrests were made just after 6:00 in the 700 block of Atchison Street, and was the result of an investigation that started weeks ago. He says that based on intelligence and based on some tips, officials started focusing their attention on the residence. It was soon determined that the prescription drug oxycontin was allegedly being sold from the property.
52-year-old Brenda Castillo-Dominguez, and 31-year-old Megan Billington, both of Atchison, were taken into custody on charges including distribution of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, and conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. Castillo-Dominguez is also facing one count of use of a telecommunication device to facilitate a controlled substance transaction.
