(KTNC)--Richardson County Transit celebrated its 20th anniversary Tuesday, with an open house at the Falls City Senior Center.
The service is part of the Southeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership and provides public transportation to Richardson County Residents.
Brenda Guilliams, the Richardson County Transportation manager, says they offer transportation in Falls City and Richardson County, to beauty shops, the grocery store, doctor's appointments, and other places, as well as to medical appointments in Omaha and Lincoln. Richardson County Transit operates two vehicles, a 9-passenger van and a 14-passenger bus, both wheelchair-accessible.
The fee to use the transit service are 50-cents from business to business, $1.50 to and from your front door, $34 round trip and $22 one-way to Omaha or Lincoln, and there are fees for transportation within Richardson County.
Guilliams says people should call ahead of time to schedule a ride if they need to be somewhere at a specific time, or need a ride to Omaha or Lincoln. Call the trasnit office at 402-245-3664. Guilliams says they're looking for a full-time driver, and a part-time sub-driver.
