(KAIR)--A single-vehicle rollover wreck Saturday evening in Atchison County sent a Soldier woman to the hospital.
Sheriff Jack Laurie says 21-year-old Fort Riley resident Jonathan Butler was westbound on K-116 Highway near Jewell Road when he lost control of his vehicle, causing him to veer off to the north shoulder of the highway. Butler then overcorrected, sending the vehicle across the eastbound lane into a south ditch, causing it to roll for about 200 feet.
A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Sydney Barnett, had moments before unbuckled her seat belt to attend to a one-year-old child in the rear of the vehicle, and was ejected during the rollover.
Barnett was transported by Life Net to Topeka's Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center for treatment of multiple injuries. Butler and the child did not appear to have suffered any injuries, but both were transported by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph for observation.
