(KTNC)--Two people were killed and one was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Holt County. The crash occurred at about 3:00 p.m. on U.S. Highway 59, six miles east of Oregon.
According to the Missouri State Patrol, 48-year-old Jana Parsons of Forest City was driving a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee west on Highway 59, when her vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a 2013 Dodge Caravan driven by 61-year-old Michael Ginn of Independence, Missouri.
Parsons was pronounced dead at the scene by Holt County Coroner Susan Lentz, while Ginn was pronounced dead after being flown to the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
A passenger in Ginn’s vehicle, 67-year-old Joseph Derr of Independence was transported to the Heartland Hospital with serious injuries.
