(KLZA) -- David Sickel will serve another term at Chairman of the Richardson County Commissioners in 2014. Jim Davidson will serve again as Vice Chairman following Tuesday’s annual Board reorganization.
Sickel and Commissioner Jim Standerford will each work with the County Roads while Davidson will be in charge of the Courthouse Building and Grounds and the Armory.
Scott Huppert was re-appointed Highway Superintendent at a salary of $49,890. Commissioners approved the recommendation of the Veteran’s Service Committee to appoint Mona Godemann as the Richardson County Veterans Service Officer for 2014 at a salary of $14.94 per hour.
Due to the retirement of Jim Gerweck, the Board appointed Brian Dixon as the Emergency Management Director at a salary of $41,390. Joe Wittwer was re-appointed Noxious Weed Control Superintendent at an hourly wage of $13.
Board members approved a supplemental project program agreement with the State of Nebraska on the Stella Southeast project. The quarterly jail inspection was conducted and the facility was found to be in good order.
A public hearing was held at 11 a-m to receive input form the public on the fair market value of the Armory building if it were to be rented or leased. Tom Townsend from Medics at Home appeared for the hearing. At the conclusion of the hearing the Board approved a date of January 28th at 11 a-m to accept bids for the rent or lease of the Armory building.
Commissioners also voted to enter into an agreement with Falls City Economic Development and Growth Enterprise for fiscal year 2013-14 offering $20,000 in funding form Richardson County. The vote was 2-1 with Commissioner Davidson casing a nay vote.
County Treasurer Austin Duerfeldt presented information to the commissioners on the current State Server system and what changes need to be made.
