(KTNC) -- The Pawnee City School Board has approved the negotiated contract between the district and the Pawnee City Education Association and contracts with district administrators for the 2014-2015 School Year.
The contract with the district’s teachers includes a $500 increase in the base salary to $32,675. Superintendent Stephen Grizzle says one change to the contract is a change from paid sick leave to Personal Time Off days. Teachers will receive 10 PTO days that they can use as they see fit.
On the flip side, Grizzle says the district will also buy back any unused PTO days at the end of the school year.
The board approved contracts with Principal Don Jacobs, with a salary increase of 3.5-percent and with Superintendent Stephen Grizzle, with a salary increase of 2.5-percent. The board approved a motion as well to extend Grizzle’s contract for one year, through the 2015-16 School Year.
In other action, the board approved a resolution authorizing Grizzle to release a Request for Qualifications seeking energy service companies to provide the district with energy conservation measures. Grizzle says the board made the move in the wake of the recent decision to not pursue a school building project.
The board also approved a motion to maintain the current membership rates for the Fitness Building for 2014.
