(KLZA)-- The Pawnee City Board of Education has selected McPherson & Jacobson, LLC, Executive Recruitment and Development to assist them in selecting superintendent candidates for the board to interview.
Dr. Mike Lucas of York will serve as the primary consultant.
The Pawnee City Board of Education has determined they are looking for characteristics in a Superintendent that include; being personable, outgoing and supportive with excellent communications skills. The person should be visible and involved at school and community events. The individual should be experienced in school finance and be able to manage the district budget and be cognizant Nebraska is over-reliant on property taxes.
The candidate should be a strong family person who understands small town values and it willing to make Pawnee City their home, taking pride in the school and community.
Other characteristics should include being an instructional leader with a strong background in curriculum and instruction and the individual should understand the role of the building principal in regards to philosophy and discipline and who embraces a teamwork approach.
A “Community Input Forum” will be held Tuesday, March 31, beginning at 5 p-m in the Pawnee City High School Media Center. All Pawnee City School patrons are invited to provide feedback.
Those unable to attend the program will be able to go to the “Survey Monkey” link accessible on the Pawnee City School website; www.pawneecityschool.com from March 26 – April 2 to comment.
The deadline for applications is April 7th. Finalists will be selected April 10th with interviews April 14th. The new Superintendent is expected to be hired by April 20th and start his or her new duties on or about July 1.
