( KNZA )--A 27-year-old Horton man is to be sentenced September 9th after pleading no contest to amended charges in a child abuse case.
Matthew Adams avoided a jury trial that had been scheduled for last week in Brown County District Court after he entered the plea to two counts of aggravated battery.
He had originally pleaded “not guilty” in May to charges of aggravated battery and felony child abuse.
Adams was convicted of shaking a child born last year, causing great bodily harm to the child.
He was arrested in January following a joint investigation by the Horton Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
