(KLZA) Richardson County Commissioners have received a Fiscal Year 2013-14 proposed budget document seeking a 12.7 percent increase in expenditures that would total $12,642,922 if approved as proposed.
The estimated levy requested to support the tax requirement for the proposed budget would be 39.73 cents per $100 of assessed valuation, which would be a two-percent increase from 2012. The total tax requirement to support the proposed budget would amount to $4,545,373 equating a $650,246 increase or 16.7 percent.
The 2013 estimated valuation of Richardson County property is up 14.4 percent to $1,144,019,296. The Richardson County valuation for 2012 was $999,559,114.
Commissioners are expected to meet with various County officials to discuss their budget requests over the next month before the budget is finalized.
