Johnson-Brock School Board Approves Policies, sets Activity and Meal Prices
07/12/2013

(KTNC) -  The Johnson-Brock Board of Education met Monday.
In action items, the board set meal prices for the next school year, with a five-cent across-the-board increase for breakfast and lunch prices.  The board set the activity admission price at three dollars for students and five dollars for adults.  That’s the same price as last year.
The board also approved updated board policies, series five thousand and six thousand, with the exception of one policy.  Superintendent Jeff Koehler says they pulled policy 5,005, which deals with transportation of option students.  (play cut    :22    “fee on there.”)
Koehler presented some preliminary budget information to the board.  He says property valuations have increased in the district, with the final valuations to be set on August 20th.   He says summer maintenance projects are on schedule to be completed by the start of the school year on August 15th.
Preliminary work is also continuing on the new building addition.  Koehler says the final drawings are being prepared, along with engineering and site work in advance of construction, which Koehler says could start as the end of September.
