(KAIR) -- A DeKalb High School Senior has been recognized by the U.S. Air National Guard as “Youth of the Year.”
Hunter Henderson was recognized for her “dedicated service to her family, school, community and the 139th Airlift Wing.”
Henderson has been a volunteer at the Guard’s Camp Guardian, a summer facility for disabled adults.
The camp has a prom for attending campers and she wanted to find 55 dresses in 55 days for the camp.
She was able to obtain 86.
In addition to her volunteerism with the Air National Guard, Henderson has volunteered over 300 hours for other community events and organizations.
