(KLZA) Falls City Utility Superintendent Alan Romine informed the City Council Monday night the National Public Gas Agency which supplies natural gas for Falls City has informed the City it will terminate it’s contract with Falls City in March of 2015. Romine explained the Board of Public Works recommends allowing the contract to expire. ( play audio :51 seconds )
Romine said the City has already been in contact with companies to be the new supplier when the current contract expires. ( play audio :18 seconds )
The Council did approve on a 6-0 vote Mayor Tim Hersh’s appointment of Council member Angie Nolte to the 9-1-1 Dispatch Service Committee. Councilman Jim Wisdom was absent and Nolte abstained from the vote.
Eric Kresin, Regional Manager for Consolidated Grain and Barge which is constructing a large grain handling facility on the south edge of Falls City provided the Council with an update on the progress of the project. ( play audio :44 seconds )
