Man Faces Gun Charge after Traffic Stop

(KAIR) -- A Tonganoxie man is facing several charges following a traffic stop Tuesday morning in Jefferson County.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig, 36-year-old Justin Wiles was pulled over by a Deputy around 2:30 on K-92 highway just outside Ozawkie.

During the stop, the deputy learned that Wiles was allegedly driving with a suspended license, had no insurance and operating a vehicle with a stolen tag from Sedgwick County.

While searching the vehicle, the Deputy found a firearm.

It was later discovered that he had at least one prior felony conviction, therefore, Wiles was also booked on the charge of felon in possession of a firearm.

Wiles remains in Jefferson County Jail awaiting bond and formal charges.
