(KNZA)--The search for a new Horton city clerk continues.
That was the sole focus of a special meeting held by the Horton City Commission this week.
The meeting was primarily held behind closed doors, comprised of three executive sessions, as the commission screened the interested candidates.
Once the commission resumed into regular session, a motion was made by Commissioner Wade Edwards, and seconded by Commissioner Ken Krug, for current city clerk/city administrator Candy Schmitt to arrange interviews with three of the candidates seeking the position.
At the same time, the motion, which was approved, also called for Schmitt to re-advertise the position, apparently to extend the field of potential candidates for the post.
The vacancy was created when Schmitt, in December, announced her plans to retire from her full time position, effective August 30th.
