( KNZA )--An Independence, Missouri woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident on a Doniphan County road about 3 ½ miles north of Leona Wednesday afternoon.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that 48-year-old April Cooper was traveling south on Ash Point Road when she lost control of her vehicle on the slushy pavement. Her vehicle left the road, struck an embankment, and rolled onto the passenger side.
Cooper was taken to an area hospital.
A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Jenny Cooper of Independence, Missouri, was not hurt.
The Patrol says both occupants were wearing seat belts.
The accident was reported shortly after 1:30 Wednesday afternoon.
