(KAIR) -- A 29-year-old Atchison man will head to prison for trafficking contraband into the Atchison County Jail.
Brian McGugin was sentenced to 30 months in prison Monday in Atchison County District Court.
McGugin was charged after getting caught by correctional officers attempting to smuggle Xanax into jail in his ears May 19th when reporting to serve a 30 day jail sanction for DUI.
He was extradited back to Atchison in October from Texas after a warrant was issued for failing to appear for sentencing earlier this summer in another case.
