Oregon St. Resurfacing Project Begins

( KNZA )-- Work began today ( Monday ) on the Oregon Street resurfacing project in Hiawatha.

Dustrol Inc. of Towanda will be milling all of Oregon Street from the west city limits east towards 1st Street through Friday, weather permitting.  Here is the schedule:

Monday :   23rd Street to Railroad Tracks

Tuesday:  Railroad Tracks to 7th Street

Wednesday:  7th Street to 5th Street

Thursday-Friday:  5th Street to 1st Street 

No vehicles will be allowed to park along Oregon Street during the duration of the mill work.   If vehicles are not removed,  they will be towed at the owner’s expense. 

Crews will be starting at 7 o'clock each morning  Your asked to have your vehicle removed prior to that time. 

Hamm Inc. of Perry is the general contractor hired to resurface Oregon Street. They will be in town shortly after the milling to complete the project.
