A Livestock - Drought Workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 5th at the Red Rock Guest Ranch located 1 and 1/4 miles east of Soldier, Kansas on 270th Road. The workshop will be held from 5:00 to 8:00PM.
A supper provided by the Jackson County Conservation District will be held from 5:00 to 7:00PM. At 5:15 David Hallauer from the Meadowlark Extension District will present "How to Control Sericea Lespedeza. at 6:00PM Dale Blasi, a K-State Extension Beef Specialist will cover frequently asked questions about drought and winter cattle feeding. at 7:00PM there will be a presentation by John Henry, NRCS Range Management Specialist on drought recover for pastures. At 7:30PM, Tom Langer, KDHE Director of Bureau of Environment will talk about Blue Green Algae in stock water ponds. At 8:00PM there will be time for questions and answers.
