Engal says construction of the grain-handling facility in conjunction  with the Union Pacific Railroad is scheduled to begin this fall, with completion expected in the fall of 2013.

When complete, the state-of-the-art facility will feature high-speed truck unloading and grain drying capacity to benefit area farmers.  The site will accommodate a loop track for up to 120-125 rail cars as well as Union Pacific shuttle loading/unloading capability for grains and fertilizer.

The facility will employ about 10 people.

It will be Scoular’s sixth shuttle train loading facility in Kansas and represents a strategic investment in its North American network of more than 60 grain-handling facilities.  The  network will connect area farmers to opportunities in local, regional, national and worldwide markets.

Scoular operates in more than 70 North American locations, and employs nearly 700 for the company's operations, including buying, selling, storing and transporting grain and other ingredients.
