( KNZA )--Two Wathena residents were injured Saturday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident on I-229 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Kevin Lee was traveling south when he slowed for a farm tractor and his pickup was struck in the rear by a car driven by 43-year-old James Kerns of St. Joseph. Lee’s vehicle was pushed forward and struck the tractor.
Lee and a passenger, 30-year-old Tyan Elder, were taken by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
The Patrol says Lee received minor injuries and Elder moderate injuries.
The tractor driver and Kerns were not hurt.
The accident was reported around 3:45 Saturday afternoon
