Vacancy Filled on USD 115 Board
08/14/2012

( KMZA )-- A vacancy has been filled on the Nemaha Central USD 115 board.

The board Monday evening voted to appoint Roger Hermesch of Seneca to fill position three on the board, which became open following the resignation of Duane Osborne in May.

Hermesch was the lone applicant for the position and will take his seat on the board at the next meeting in September.

He will serve until July 2013 and may choose to run in the general election in April of next year to fill the unexpired term which ends in 2015.

In other business, the board adopted the 2012-2013 budget as published following a hearing drawing no public comment.

The $11.2 million budget calls for a more than 2.3 mill increase in the property tax levy.

Even with the increase, Superintendent Darrel Kohlman says USD 115’s mill levy is still lower than surrounding districts.
