Wetmore Principal Retiring
06/06/2012

Wetmore Attendance Center Principal David Schmitz is retiring.
The Prairie Hills USD 113 Board of Education accepted Schmitz resignation Monday evening, effective June 30th.
Schmitz has served as principal the past five years.
Board President Ed Reznicek thanked Schmitz for his dedication as principal the past five years.
The board discussed at length the request by a group of Bern area property owners to transfer their land to Nemaha Central USD 115.
Superintendent Dennis Stones says two USD 113 board members--Ed Reznicek and Brent Lortscher will be involved in preliminary discussions on the matter with USD 115.  Stones also suggested that new superintendent, Bill Orth, be involved in the discussions.
Stones said there hasn’t been an official request made from USD 115 at this point to transfer the land.
The board discussed the open board position created by the death of Roger Brockhoff.
As of the Monday meeting, only one person had applied—Jeff Demint.
Today ( Wednesday ) is the deadline for applications.
The board will hold a special meeting next Tuesday evening to interview the candidate or candidates for the open board position and make a decision.
