Holton golf team continued their success taking another golf overall team crown this time at the Nemaha Valley Invitational at Spring Creek, this past Friday in a competition that featured eight different schools. The Wildcats of Holton finished with five individuals in the top 10 performers at the meet and had a team combined score of 304, which was 36 better than the second place team in the host school Nemaha Valley who tallied a 340 on the day as a team. The Raiders did however snag the overall best individual performance of the day, coming at the hand of Trent Olberding who shot a 75.
The Raiders of Nemaha Valley not only saw Trent take home the top individual performance, but his teammate Zach Bradley notched a top 10 finish, too. Bradley shot an 83 tying him for place sixth overall on the day.
For the Wildcats they were paced with those five top ten finishers as the team scores for the tournament only combines your schools top four scores on the day. Kenton Tegethoff and Kellen Brandt both finished with the second best tally on the shooting a 76. Then it was Zach Fate and Garrett Holaday both shooting a 77 on the day good for the third best total of the day as they finished fourth on the day. Ethan Holaday around out the top 10 with an 85 on the day.
Onaga Buffaloes finished third as a team overall in the meet with a team scored of 356, featuring one top 10 finisher in Zak Marten who finished ninth with an 84. The other local area athlete in the top 10 was was Horton's MaKennzi Knudson as he shot an 83 tying for sixth place.
