A 22 year-old Atchison man will await sentencing for battery of a jailer.
Brandon Vandever pled guilty Wednesday afternoon in Atchison County Court before his scheduled preliminary hearing to a level seven battery of a law enforcement officer charge.
A part of a plea deal, he had a misdemeanor interference with a law enforcement officer charge dismissed.
He was given the charge after an October 29th incident in the Atchison County Jail where he shoved a corrections officer repeatedly during an interaction.
He was an inmate at the time of the incident, serving another sentence.
Sentencing will be April 2nd.
Vandever is currently out on 20 thousand dollars bond.
