The Southeast Nebraska Development District says Lisa Beethe has joined its staff as a Community Development Specialist in the Humboldt office.
Beethe lives near Elk Creek with her husband and two children. She is originally from Pawnee City, graduating from Pawnee City Public Schools and Southeast Community College in Lincoln. She is continuing her education at Peru State College, studying business administration and accounting, with plans to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in 2013.
Beethe is a member of the Nemaha Natural Resources District Board of Directors, serving currently as Chair of the Board. Before joining the SENDD staff, Beethe had worked with the Nebraska Environmental Trust for 11 years. During her years with the Nebraska Environmental Trust, Beethe worked closely with grant applicants across the state to implement and administer environmental grants.
At SENDD, Lisa will work with local leaders in the four-county area of Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, and Richardson Counties to administer existing community development projects and with the development of new grant applications. She can be contacted at the SENDD office in Humboldt at 402-862-2201.
