Three Investors Honored at Falls City EDGE Banquet
01/09/2014

(KTNC) -- Falls City Economic Development and Growth Enterprise honored three Investors of the Year during the organization’s annual banquet and business meeting Wednesday night.

EDGE’s Investor and Community Relations Chairman Charlie Radatz presented awards to one business and two new investors.  The business is Consolidated Grain and Barge, which completed a $25 million grain handling facility this fall.  Radatz noted that the CGB development resulted in between $1.5 million and $2 million in contracts to area contractors and the creation of 12 full-time jobs. The individual investors were two farmers who were major supporters of the CGB project – Jerry Duerfeldt and Andy Dunn.

Radatz also noted that EDGE added 75 new investors in 2013, bringing the organization’s membership to a record high of 161.

Among the 2013 highlights included in EDGE’s 2013 Annual Report in addition to CGB are the completion of the new Rulo Bridge, and Falls City receiving the 2013 Governor’s Showcase Award. The report also highlighted job growth and local industries, with five-year employment highs at Airlanco, WASP, and Vantec.

During a brief business meeting, Charlie Radatz was re-elected to another three-year term as a general director on the EDGE Board.  Bart Keller will continue as the EDGE president for another year.
