Nemaha County Nebraska Commissioners voted to adopt the one and six year road plan when they met Wednesday morning. Approval came following a public hearing that drew no public comment.
The county’s highway consultant, Mark Mainelli, prepared the plan for highway improvements for 2012 through 2018.
In other business, the board granted permission to Mike Jones of Vision Care Direct to visit with county employees about the services the company offers.
Nemaha Against Drug and Alcohol Director Laura Osborne presented the organization’s quarterly report. Commissioners agreed to continue the county’s annual financial commitment of $5,000 to the organization.
Larry Holtzman met with the board regarding the cost of replacing windows at the Multi-Plex Building. Holtzman could not provide a cost estimate, and he requested the board prepare bid specs for the windows.
Commissioners did approve the quote of $550 from Pieters Construction to replace the back steps at the Nemaha County Jail.
The March fuel bid was awarded to Leuders Petroleum, at a cost of $3.75 for No. 1 Diesel, $3.67 for No. 2 Diesel, and $3.46 for unleaded.
And the Board appointed Janet Olson to a position on the Nemaha County Veteran’s Service Commission, with the term to expire June 30, 2013.
