Atchison Man Pleads Not Guilty to Multiple Drug Charges
02/09/2012

A 40 year old Atchison man will head to a jury trial on multiple drug charges, including felony possession of cocaine.

Prosecution will present their case March 19th against Charles “Ed” Young.

He pled not guilty Wednesday during a preliminary hearing in Atchison County Court.

Young also faces a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arrested by the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department on December 9th after responding to an unrelated domestic disturbance at a residence Young was at.

He was able to post a 15 thousand dollar bond a week later; however, he was picked up five days later after failing a bond mandated drug test.

As a result, Judge Martin Asher revoked his bond on December 30th and Young remains in Atchison County Jail.
