Growers needing to recertify or certify for a private pesticide applicator license usually attend a training event or come to their local County Extension office to watch a DVD. Because of the COV-19, this procedure has changed. The Missouri Department of Agriculture and University of Missouri policy is “until further notice, private applicators are no longer able to visit their extension office and watch the DVD to recertify.” Applicators needing a license or needing to recertify should contact their local Extension office by phone or email. Growers will be asked to purchase a copy of the Private Pesticide Applicator Training manual and will receive a study guide. The applicator will be required to review the training material and fill out the study guide and return it for grading. Once received, the Extension Service will send the grower an applicator license form for the grower to complete. Once completed, return the form to the Extension office by mail or email. For more information, please contact Andy Luke at 660-425-6434 or Wayne Flanary at 816-279-1691, Field Specialists in Agronomy, University of Missouri Extension.
