10/07/2016

(KMZA)--The final plat for a new housing addition in Seneca has been approved.

The Seneca City Council Wednesday evening gave their approval to the plat for Stallbaumer Addition #3, located in the southern portion of the community.

The addition consists of five lots.

Also on the recommendation of the city Planning Commission, the Council approved an ordinance rezoning the property from an agricultural to a single-family residential district.

In other business, representatives of Nemaha County United 4 Youth met with the Council to present their annual report and to request funding from the city.

They said they had sponsored several events in Nemaha County schools for junior and high school students aimed at preventing substance abuse and to encourage students not to text while driving and to wear their seat belts.

The Council voted to provide the non-profit organization with $2,500, the same amount the city provided for the past fiscal year.
