Parking Lot Pot Case Ends With Sentencing
12/21/2015

(KAIR)--Two months short of two years in prison.

That's the sentence handed down Friday in Atchison County District court for the man convicted of  involvement in the sell of marijuana in the parking lot of the Atchison Wal-Mart Super Center.

Dale Rogers was sentenced to 22 months in prison, with that sentence to run concurrent with a 13-month sentence stemming from a conviction in a case dating back to 2011.

He previously plead guilty to one count of distribution of marijuana as part of a plea agreement.

The 28-year-old Rogers was arrested in August after a controlled marijuana purchase was arranged by the Atchison County Sheriff's Department in the parking lot of the store.

Rogers didn't know that the person he was arranging the sell with was a deputy.
