(KMZA)--The Nemaha Central Board of Education has been asked to begin a FFA program at the high school.
District patrons Ray Shinn, Doug Metzger and Rosette Randel spoke in favor of adding the program during this week’s regular meeting.
Responses to a parent survey that was conducted over a year ago were shared and handed out to the board members.
Randel presented a synopsis of the three components of a FFA/VoAg program which are: Classroom/Laboratory, Supervised Agricultural Experience and the FFA program.
The district patrons indicated there may be interest from local businesses and individuals who may want to assist with the financing of the program.
Superintendent Darrel Kohlman will check with area school districts and the State FFA program official regarding the requirements to begin a program.
