(KNZA)--Advance voting has begun for the January 5th special election in the city of Sabetha on a half-cent retailers sales tax increase to fund the construction of a proposed new aquatic center.
Registered voters may vote an advance election ballot either by mail or in person at the Nemaha County Clerk’s Office.
To vote by mail, a person must complete an application form and return it to the County Clerk’s Office before a ballot can be mailed to them. All application forms must be received by December 31st.
Voters may come to the County Clerk’s Office to vote in person up until noon on Monday, January 4th. The County Clerk’s Office is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 to 4:30.
All Sabetha registered voters who will not be able to get to their
polling place on Election Day, January 5th, are encouraged to use the advance voting option in order to cast their vote in this election.
Your reminded that Kansas law requires every voter to provide identification before voting. If a voter requests a ballot be mailed to them, they must include their driver's license number on the application or a copy of their photo ID with the completed application.
Those with questions concerning the advance voting process can contact the Nemaha County Clerk’s Office at 336-2170.
