(KNZA)-- Two rural Atchison residents are facing charges in Doniphan County in connection with a domestic disturbance last month involving several weapons.
51-year-old Patrick Meranda and 43-year-old Nilita Ramsey have each been charged in Doniphan County District Court with a felony count of aggravated assault along with misdemeanors counts of criminal use of a weapon and domestic battery.
According to court documents, Meranda was allegedly in possession of a chainsaw and sword at the time of the incident and Ramsey is alleged to have had an ax.
A preliminary hearing for Meranda is now set for January 14th, while a hearing date for Ramsey is pending.
Both remain in the Doniphan County Jail.
