(KAIR)--The Sights and Sounds of Christmas will fill the City of Atchison Saturday, as a full day of holiday themed activities are planned for the day.
That leads up to the early evening, when the annual Parade of Lights is set to wind it's way through the city's downtown.
Before it begins, other activities and contests will be held, including Cinderella Carriage Rides, at 7th and Commercial, and Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides, at 5th and Commercial.
Both rides are free, and will run from noon until 4:30.
The Santa House will be open from 10:00 until 3:30 in the 500 Block of Commercial, while a Litte Christmas Train will run from noon until 4:30 in the 600 block of Commercial.
Face painting happens from noon to 5:00, in the Mall Towers dining room, while story time is planned from noon to 4:00 aboard the Atchison Trolley.
It all leads up to the grand finale, as the Parade of Lights begins at 5:30.
A wide variety of lighted floats, divided into the divisions of family, business, and church/youth groups, will be seen making their way through downtown Atchison, serving as a welcome to the Spirit of Christmas.
