(KAIR)--An Atchison man remains jailed, arrested last week when found hiding from police when they attempted to locate him due to an outstanding warrant.
Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says 30-year-old Wallace Harper, Junior, was also in the alleged possession of a firearm when located, off limits due to his criminal background. “He was located at a residence in the 400 block of North 7th,” Wilson tells MSC News. “After entering the residence, [officers] did locate him hiding inside of a closet. He was taken into custody on that warrant. In that same room, they found a handgun they connected to Harper, and because of his criminal history he was also charged with criminal possession of a firearm.”
Harper remains in the Atchison County Jail, held on a combined bond of $20,000 for both the warrant and for possessing the firearm.
