(KMZA)--Funeral services have been set for an area optometrist killed in a single-vehicle wreck in the Cayman Islands last month.
54-year-old Mark Bettencourt, of Wamego, was among two men killed November 15th when their minivan went off a roadway on Cayman Brac and rolled.
Bettencourt wasn’t found until three and a half hours after the crash occurred.
Bettencourt had been practicing in the Wamego area since 1994. He also owned and operated an office in Holton from 1999 to 2005.
Mass of Christian Burial for Bettencourt will be celebrated at 10:30 Saturday morning at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wamego, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Bettencourt is survived by his wife, Angie, along with four children.
The Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego is handling the arrangements.
