(KNZA)--A longtime Brown County nurse receives special statewide recognition. According to a news release from the Northeast Kansas Multi-County Health Department, Brown County Health Department Director Karla Harter was awarded the Public Health Champion of the Year Award by the Kansas Association of Counties. The honor comes as Harter marks 34-years of service. The award was presented to Harter during the Association's annual conference in Wichita earlier this month.
