(KNZA)--The search for a new Parks and Recreation Commissioner for the City of Horton has been launched.
That follows the unexpected death of Commissioner Al Barton last week.
He had served in that role since October 2012.
Services for Barton were held Saturday.
Now, the Commission has ten days to fill the vacancy, and is seeking someone interested in taking on that role.
Letters of interest are now being accepted at Horton City Hall until 2:00 this coming Wednesday.
Candidates will be interviewed during an upcoming special meeting of the Commission, with Barton's replacement to be appointed in the near future.
