(KNZA)--A man accused of opening fire with a handgun while driving in Holton Friday is now in custody.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says 23-year-old Ozawkie resident Joshua Joseph Myers is accused of shooting a 9 mm handgun from his vehicle, apparently aiming the weapon at another man who was across the street.
Morse says it happened around 5:00 Friday evening at the intersection of 5th and Arizona, where Holton Police and Sheriff's Deputies responded. Myers was gone, but word was received that he was seen behind the wheel of a speeding blue Eclipse headed south out of Holton.
Morse says deputies located the car about ten-minutes later, made a traffic stop, and arrested Myers.
He was booked into the Jackson County Jail on bond of $300,000.
Morse says Myers' alleged intended victim was not hurt during the shooting, and the investigation is continuing.
