Injury Wreck Leads To Atchison Arrest

(KAIR)--An Atchison man was taken into custody Tuesday on charges stemming from an injury wreck last month.

Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie says 31-year-old Arlen Thompson was arrested on a District Court warrant charging him with interference with a law enforcement officer, failure to stop at an accident, false information or report concerning accident, and driving while suspended.

Deputies were called to the Atchison Hospital in the early morning hours of September 5th, where it was reported that Thompson was operating either an ATV or a Harley Davidson motorcycle at an unknown location, when it is believed that he lost control on a gravel road. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle, and received conflicting stories about its identity. 

Thompson's passenger, 33-year-old Haley Thompson was treated for a back injury, fractured leg, and other minor injuries sustained in the wreck.
