10/15/2015

(KNZA)--The jury trial for a rural Netawaka man arrested in May after picking up a package allegedly containing a large quantity of marijuana shipped by U.S. mail has been pushed back

Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says 54-year-old Johnny Lee Williams had a new attorney enter an appearance Friday, and his trial was continued to March.  It had originally been set for this week.

Williams is charged with felony possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

He was arrested May 5th by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department after picking up a package at the Whiting Post Office allegedly containing four pounds of  marijuana.

Authorities allege Williams had been distributing marijuana from such shipments received from California.

He remains in the Jackson County Jail, held without bond.
