Enrollment Up in Hiawatha USD 415
10/14/2015

(KNZA)--Enrollment is up this school year in the Hiawatha school district.

Superintendent Penny Hargrove told the Board of Education Monday evening the district picked up 11 students over last school year.

The official head count taken on September 21st showed a total enrollment of 892 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

The 1st, 3rd and 5th grades have the largest classes.

Despite the enrollment increase, the district will not see any additional state aid because of the block grant funding legislation approved by this year's Kansas Legislature and signed by Governor Brownback.
