10/13/2015

(KLZA)-- The Auburn Board of Education heard a report from Amy Wynn about the Districts Sixpence program that started last spring which serves parents of children from birth to age 3. The program currently has 13 families participating.  The Sixpence program was started with a $100,000 grant and $25,000 start-up money from the Auburn School District.

Superintendent Kevin Reiman says the Board also approved the purchase of a new school bus. A Chevy Collins School bus will be purchased from Master Transportation at a cost of just under $74,000. The bus will be equipped with a wheel chair lift.

A bus with approximately 181,000 miles on it will be replaced.

Minor changes were approved to the Auburn Public School Safety Plan and a number of policies were updated including teacher job descriptions.
