(KNZA)--The search for a missing Jackson County woman continues.
That word from Sheriff Tim Morse, who says the silver alert issued September 30th for 70-year-old Joan Rebar remains in effect. It was put in place four days after she was last seen during the early morning hours of September 26th at the Meriden VFW, in Jefferson County.
Investigators believe she was likely driving from that area to her home on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation, crossing northern Shawnee County and southern Jackson County, at the time of her disappearance.
According to Morse, the investigation indicates that the last ping on Rebar's cell phone came on the afternoon of September 26th, possibly within seven miles of Meriden.
Anyone with property in the three county area where she likely traveled is asked to check their land in the chance that Rebar's vehicle left the roadway.
A thorough search of the area has been conducted by law enforcement, volunteers and aircraft, while the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism on Saturday searched Perry Lake with sonar.
Rebar is described as Native American, standing 5'6” weighing 230 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. She drives a silver 2005 Chrysler Pacifica.
Morse, in a press release, emphasizes there are no persons of interest named in her disappearance, and anyone with information related to the case should call authorities at 785-966-3024 or 785-364-2251.
