Resurfacing Project Set to Begin on K-13
10/02/2015

(KMZA)--A resurfacing project is set to begin next week on an about 15-mile stretch of K-13 Highway in Pottawatomie and Riley Counties.

The project will take place from the U.S. 24 junction north of Manhattan in Riley County to the K-16 junction in Pottawatomie County.

Beginning Monday, eastbound and westbound K-13 will be reduced to one open lane for both directions in several mile increments beginning at the K-16 junction and heading south to the Tuttle Creek Spillway Bridge. Then from there, crews will move to the U.S. 24 junction and head back towards the Tuttle Creek Spillway Bridge.

Work will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with some occasional Saturday work.

Traffic will be directed through the project work zone by a pilot car and flagger operation. Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes maximum and are encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible.

Shilling Construction Company, of Manhattan, is the primary contractor on the nearly $1.8 million project.   The project is scheduled for completion in early November, weather allowing.
