Atchison Co Child Endangerment Case Continued
10/02/2015

(KAIR)--The preliminary hearing for a Valley Falls man, accused of endangering a child, has been continued.

26-year-old Eric Pennington appeared in Atchison County District Court Friday, where his attorney requested the continuance, since he had just been appointed to the case, and needed more time to prepare. The judge agreed, and set a new hearing date for October 16th.

Pennington was arrested last month after he allegedly placed a 4-year-old child on a motorcycle while intoxicated. After he was transported to the Atchison County Jail, he allegedly became combative with jail staff and deputies before assaulting the officers.

In addition to the endangering a child charge, Pennington is also facing charges of assault, interference with law enforcement, driving under the influence, and driving while suspended.
