(KAIR)--An Atchison man, accused of sex crimes against a child, has entered a plea of no contest in the case.
33-year-old Steven Piper appeared in Atchison County District Court Thursday, where he waived his right to a preliminary hearing and entered a plea of no contest to one count of aggravated criminal sodomy.
Sentencing has been set for November 6th.
Piper turned himself into police last month after an investigation showed that he had allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual acts with a child under the age of 14 between 2003 and 2008.
He remains in the Atchison County Jail, held on a $200,000 bond.
