(KLZA)-- The Nemaha County Commissioners have voted to adopt resolutions increasing the base limitation percentage the additional 1% to 3.5-percent. Commissioners also adopted a resolution setting the property tax rate for the next fiscal year at 30.39-cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
Noxious Weed Control Authority Joe Wittwer updated the board on his work with landowners regarding the spraying of thistles and sericea lespedeza. Wittwer noted most of his problems has been with absent landowners.
Nemaha County Hospital Director Marty Fatig presented the hospital audit and quarterly financial report. Ed Bredemeir met with the Commissioners to discuss road conditions and brush growing on county road 722 between 640 and 641 Avenue which makes the road impassable with a combine.
Al Witte met with the Board. He noted the Nemaha County 4-H Shooting Club is reorganizing. Witte serves as the instructor for the 4-H Club and was asking about using the shooting range in the basement of the Multi-Plex building for the club. Witte noted there are some issues that need corrected including a possible water leak, dehumidifiers not working and lighting.
