(KNZA)--Suicide Prevention is the focus for the month of September, with the 2nd annual “I Believe” Fight Against Suicide benefit ride and auction held over the weekend.
This week, acclaimed youth motivational speaker Jeff Yalden will bring his message to the local area, speaking to students and the public alike. “Teenagers need to understand, life is hard, life is not perfect. There's so much to it,” Yalden tells MSC News.
Yalden addressed high school students of Hiawatha, Horton and the Kickapoo Nation School Monday morning, and the high school students of Falls City on Tuesday.
On Monday evening, Yalden will provide a talk to the public, beginning at 6:00 at the Hiawatha High School auditorium. This is a change from the originally scheduled time. The event is free and open to anyone.
Yalden's visit to the local area is made possible in part through the support of NAMI Pony Express, a support group for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, which serves the Kansas counties of Brown, Doniphan and Nemaha.
